TIHL #19 How to Sleep in an Angled Bed
It is 3:17 am. I have to get up for work in 3 hours, and I'm pretty sure that I'm never going to fall asleep. There are potentially many reasons for this. For starters, it is probably 95 degrees in here. Since this is only my second night in my new "city" dwelling, I'm still too paranoid to open the window. I have been, for the past several hours, weighing the odds of a scary man climbing in through my bedroom window versus the odds of me perishing of heat stroke. So far, I guess the bad man is winning, because my window is still securely locked. This is probably one of those things that only makes perfect sense at 3:00 am. Ask me tomorrow, and I'm sure I too will realize I'm nuts. I'm considering going to get the frozen strawberries that my mom bought for me and putting them in my bed, but then I realize that they are, in fact, the only thing in my freezer, and my best hope for breakfast tomorrow morning. I'll have to go grocery shopping sometime soon, I suppose. I wonder if Lund's is open 24 hours, and if the bad man has an equal chance of snatching me off the street on the way to the grocery store as he does coming in through my slightly ajar window. Since I don't have any pants on, I should probably not go to the grocery store. I will save that trip for tomorrow. My right ear is throbbing, as it has been on and off for three weeks. I finally decided today that despite my bad insurance, it was time to suck it up and go to the doctor's office. Yes, indeed I have a raging infection in my ear canal. I couldn't remember my zip code when I filled out that little form that they give you, maybe they won't be able to find me to send me my bill. Somehow I doubt that. My new bed is at an angle in my room. It was the only way I could really fit everything in. I'm not sure I like angled furniture. Tomorrow night, I'm taking a sleeping pill.
